Girls is currently #15 in the UK Midweek Chart today, from download sales alone. Girls has risen to #2 on the UK Airplay Chart this week. Meaning it is the second most played song in the country this week, just behind Will Young.
Girls has moved up to the A List on Radio One this week. It is also #4 in the UK Airplay charts. Make sure you continue to request the song on your favourite radio station.
The image below has been posted on the Sugababes’ official Bebo and MySpace pages leading us to believe it may be the CD cover for Girls, although it has not been confirmed yet. A tracklisting for one CD has also surfaced. It is unclear if there will be a second CD released as well.

Heidi has revealed that the Sugababes’ new album Catfights and Spotlights will sound darker and more mature than their previous albums. She has also said that the lead single Girls is not representative of the album since it contains many different musical styles. Heidi also confirmed that they have not worked with long time contributers Xenomania, made up of Brain Higgins and his team, who have worked with the Sugababes since the Angels With Dirty Faces era on tracks such as Round Round, Hole In The Head, and Red Dress. Catfights And Spotlights as confirmed today by PopJustice. PopJustice have also confirmed that the title of the song Murder One has been changed to something “less murdery”.

Here is the music video for Girls that premiered on Channel 4 this morning.
PopJustice have posted some of their thoughts on five tracks from the Sugababes’ new album. They describe the songs as “soulful, melodramatic, orchestral and intensely brilliant” and “‘literally amazing”. They have also included some lyrics to the song Murder One. Read the article here.

The exclusive first showing of the Sugababes’ new music video for Girls will be on Channel 4 tomorrow morning at 11:30am. Make sure you tune in. Meanwhile, here’s a short clip of it to whet your appetite.
The Sugababes’ Official MySpace Page has been updated with a lengthy piece about the new album. You can read it under the “About Sugababes” section on the main page. The write-up mentions some of the new album track titles such as Murder One and You On A Good Day, which coincidentally are titles featured in PopJustice’s Pop Quiz today.
Therefore the confirmed tracks so far for the new album are:

The album will be released on October 20th.
The Babes’ show on October 1st at London’s Kentish Town Forum is on sale now. The gig will see the girls join the likes of Razorlight and Keane as part of a newly-launched series of Q shows and part of the build up to the Q Awards 2008 which take place in London Monday October 6. Tickets for the girls gig are on sale at Ticketmaster.co.uk. The Sugababes won the Q ‘Best Single’ award in 2002 for their “Freak Like Me” single.
The Sugababes’ new single Girls is a new entry this week on the A-list on BBC Radio 2. It has also moved up to the B-list on BBC Radio 1. Make sure you keep requesting the single on your favourite radio station.
