Mutya Vs Amelle

26 April 2007 | Categories: Amelle Mutya | Permalink

Ex-Sugababe Mutya Buena has been mixing it up… She has supposedly claimed that someone is stealing her identity and copying her look. But who would do such a thing? Well, according to Mutya it’s her Sugababes replacement, Amelle Berrabah.

And if you go around making claims like that don’t be surprised when the other person gets wind of it. Yup, Amelle has piped up - she told the Daily Mirror: “I was really upset when I heard she said I was a clone who copied her voice and her look. It was totally out of order.”

Perhaps Mutya will feel a wee bit sheepish when she hears that one of the songs she’s using on her new album was actually penned by ‘the clone’ herself. Amelle said: “I wrote it before I joined the Sugababes. I don’t think Mutya knows that.”

Gay Fans Are ‘The Best’

25 April 2007 | Categories: Mutya | Permalink

Former Sugababe, MUTYA BUENA hails her gay fans as the best, because they’re more fun and are only interested in having a good time. The singer left British girl group the Sugababes in 2005 following the birth of her first daughter Tahlia, and will soon be performing at London gay club G-A-Y - and she can’t wait. The 21-year-old singer says, “To be honest the gay audiences are the best. Gay people seem to want to go out and have a good time; in other places people go out, spend their money and then spend the whole evening giving each other dirty looks.”

Spot The Mistakes

01 December 2006 | Categories: Mutya Siobhan | Permalink

Taken from The Sun newspaper yesterday:

EX-SUGABABES MUTYA BUENA and SIOBHAN DONAGHY are sharpening their claws for the year's biggest cat fight.

I can reveal the girls will go head to head when their debut solo albums are released next March.

The Babes always had a reputation for being the bitchy band of pop because of their rows.

Siobhan and Mutya haven't spoken since Siobhan quit the band mid-tour in 2001, rumoured to be depressed about the girls' fights. Mutya left last year. A source said: "There was no love lost. Their charts battle will be very interesting."

So how many mistakes did you spot? Victoria Newton is notorious for getting things wrong in her column. So much so that a fantastic new blog has been made to catelog her errors. The above story is also covered in the blog so you can find out what she got wrong if you don't know already. To read the blog click here.
